2006 Fantasy Football Sleepers

Author: Scoop Chicos

This Week in Fantasy Football Sleepers

Jumping on the Hood of a Moving Car -

Phillip Rivers, QB, San Diego Chargers- This lollygagger is a mystery. All I know is that hes playing with Antonio Gates and LaDainian Tomlinson. So if it turns out this guy can mix a mean cocktail and is actually a whippersnapper instead of a lollygagger, well, fantasy football managers, Im no Philadelphia lawyer but Id say that is the definition of sleeper for your draft on the fantasy football league contraption machine.

Joseph Addai, RB, Indianapolis Colts- This lollygagger is a mystery. All I know is that hes playing with Payton Manning, Reggie Wayne and Marvin Harrison. So if it turns out this guy can mix a mean cocktail and is actually a whippersnapper instead of a lollygagger, well, fantasy football managers, Im no Philadelphia lawyer but Id say that is the definition of sleeper for your draft on the fantasy football league contraption machine

Second Year Firsts

Cedric Benson, RB, Chicago Bears- I called my friend Joey Lender in Chicago last night. He thought I was dead. I said she is dead and he said who and I said if you have to ask me that than that is why Ive always thought of you as an acquaintance and I told him to chase himself, then hung up on him. I tried to kick the air and landed on my chair. I sat there for a few minutes stewing and headed to the typewriter only to see this half written article so I called him back.

Joey Lender: Lender here, how much?

Scoop Chicos: Joey. Its Scoop. How you been?

Joey Lender: You son of a bitch, you hung up on me?

Scoop Chicos: Dont be such a flat tire Lender and give me the goods on the Chicago running back situation.

Joey Lender: This guy I know has a guy that says that his brother in-law talked to a cafeteria worker at the Bears house and that Benson is eating lunch with the first team.

I hung up on him. The name of the game in Chicago is defense making Benson a control freak.

Troy Williamson, WR, Minnesota Vikings- I saw this fly boy with my own weakening eyes last year and he made a couple of plays that opened my mouth wider than it already is. Last year was a learning experience on many levels for this whippersnapper after playing in an offense in college that passed the ball as often as Sinatra slept alone. Koren Robinson is the company line coming out of the Vikings coaches mouths but Troy Williamson is the top shelf liquor they really want to be served. If Im a fantasy football league manager looking for a five that could be a one Id leave my accountant out of it and draft this floor flusher.

Running Tally of 2006 Fantasy Football Sleepers:

Phillip Rivers, QB, San Diego Chargers

Joseph Addai, RB, Indianapolis Colts

Cedric Benson, RB, Chicago Bears

Troy Williamson, WR, Minnesota Vikings

Laurence Maroney, RB, New England Patriots

Marion Barber III, RB, Dallas Cowboys

Drew Brees, QB, New Orleans Saints

Daunte Culpepper, QB, Miami Dolphins

Matt Jones, WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

Greg Jones, RB, Jacksonville Jaguars

Charlie Frye, QB, Cleveland Browns

Jon Kitna, QB, Detroit Lions
